The Challenge
The client wanted security camera coverage around an older two-story residence located in a prominent area of Nassau.
The construction of the home presented a major challenge. There was no practical ceiling space available for running traditional CCTV cabling, and the homeowner did not want exposed wires or visible cable routes installed across the exterior of the property.
A traditional hardwired CCTV installation would have required a more invasive installation approach that did not meet the client's expectations for the property.
The Custom Solution
Instead of forcing a traditional wired camera system into a property that was not well suited for it, IoT Systems & Growth Solutions designed a wireless security solution around the existing structure of the residence.
The first step was improving and extending Wi-Fi coverage around the property. Reliable wireless connectivity was essential because the security cameras would depend on the property's Wi-Fi network for remote access and camera communication.
Once the wireless coverage was strengthened, Wi-Fi solar-powered security cameras were installed in strategic exterior locations.
The solar-powered camera solution reduced the need for exposed camera cabling while still allowing the homeowner to improve security coverage around the property.
